About our Engineering Team

Engineering is an integral part of our company - and we have big ambitions. There are many interesting challenges ahead, and you'd be able to work directly with anyone across the company. Some of us have worked in growth-stage companies; some have only ever worked in startups; others are former consultants. As VP of Engineering at WeWire, you'll be at the forefront of deploying technology as a cornerstone of our success, leading the team to innovate and expand globally

Role Summary:

  • Direct leadership over the engineering team, with Senior Engineers as direct reports.
  • Devise and implement strategies to scale WeWire internationally.
  • Collaborate with C-Suite stakeholders and Leads to drive product development.
  • Champion customer-centric approaches to solving user needs and enhancing experiences.
  • Collaborating with cross-functional teams to define, design, and ship new features.
  • Employ data-driven decision-making to guide product direction and success metrics.
  • Manage planning and roadmaps to align with WeWire's broader business objectives.

You should apply if

  • You have experience leading Engineering teams (including experience managing Engineering Leaders, ideally at Director level).
  • You’ve got over a ten year track record of shipping successful, customer-centric digital products in both a business and consumer tech company
  • You have the ability to communicate clearly and persuasively to a wide range of audiences, and in a structured way.
  • You can clearly demonstrate the impact and success of your previous work and your team’s work in line with business objectives.
  • You can systematically break down and then solve complex problems (for customers and the business).
  • You’re comfortable using data to ground your thinking in analysis, can identify key metrics and their drivers and evaluate the success of your work.
  • You make good decisions in complex situations where there’s often no “right answer”.
  • You can work effectively with a diverse range of people and working styles to get stuff done, and are able to thoughtfully and constructively challenge and influence the people you work with.
  • You're able to quickly build trust and enable your teams to be high performing.
  • You are passionate about delivering end-to-end initiatives across the stack and have experience in Typescript, React and NestJS.
  • You have practical experience and in depth knowledge of AWS services is a plus.
  • You're very good at unit and integration testing.
  • You know and care about sound engineering practices like continuous delivery, defensive programming, and automated testing.
  • You have a product mindset: you care about customer outcomes and you want to make data-informed decisions.
  • You enjoy learning quickly and working closely with your product team to bring value to your customers and partners.
  • You're comfortable working in a team that deals with ambiguity.

The interview process:

All interview stages are virtual. Our process typically involves three main stages

  • Initial Call - video call via Google Meet or physical (30 mins)
  • Take-home Task - to complete in your own time (within 48 hours)
  • Role Specific & Values Interview - video call via Google Meet (x2 60 mins)

Our average process takes around 2-3 weeks but we will always work around your availability.
